Construction Accidents

New York City has seen a 300 percent increase in construction since 2009. But with this construction boom comes an increase in jobsite injuries and deaths. There were 433 construction accidents in 2015 as compared to 231 the previous year; 471 workers and pedestrians were injured, an over 91 percent increase from the 246 injuries reported in 2014. Eleven construction workers died in 2015, 12 in 2016, and eight so far in 2017.
